6 Ways Phoenix Valley Summer Heat
Destroys Your Garage Door
Most garage door failures don't come out of nowhere. They build up slowly, quietly — until one August morning when the temperature hits 115°F and your door just stops. Here's exactly what's happening to your door right now if it hasn't been serviced.
Springs Snap Without Warning
Thermal expansion and contraction from extreme heat weakens torsion springs — the #1 cause of sudden garage door failure. A broken spring means your door won't move at all.
Lubricants Dry Out Fast
Phoenix Valley heat evaporates grease and oil rapidly, leaving metal grinding on metal. This destroys rollers and tracks — and the noise you're hearing? That's the warning sign most people ignore.
Opener Motors Overheat
Your garage can reach 130°F+ in summer. A motor that's already struggling won't survive it. Opener replacement runs $500–$1,000. Regular servicing can extend its life by years.
Seals & Weatherstrip Crack
Cracked seals let in scorching air, bugs, and dust — turning your garage into an oven and spiking your energy bills. Summer is when rubber seals age years in a matter of months.
Safety Sensors Blind Out
Direct Valley sunlight and heat causes sensors to misalign or malfunction. A door that doesn't detect what's underneath it is a serious safety hazard for kids, pets, and vehicles.
Tracks Warp & Misalign
Metal tracks expand in extreme heat. Even slight misalignment causes the door to bind, jerk, or jump the track entirely — and a door off-track can drop without warning.
Catch all of these problems before they become a $300+ emergency call.

Brigham got my broken spring fixed right away and did an awesome job!Posted on Google Tim HackettTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Great experience today with Brigham and Farnsworth. Garage Doors! Wife backed into and dented the bottom panel backing out of the garage before the door was fully open. Getting quotes and find since the door is 20 years old I can’t just replace the bottom panel. Brigham put a shoulder to the bend and straighted it, not perfect but better than it was, and added a couple of screw to keep things and place, for no charge! At some point will likely have to replace the door but this works for now!Posted on Google Jenny JolleyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Farnsworth Garage Door was quick to respond to me when our garage spring broke. Brigham came out same day and fixed it within and hour. His prices were better than anyone else we called on. I would highly suggest them and trust them to work with!!!Posted on Google Abby HartmanTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Brigham from Farnsworth Garage Door Services was absolutely outstanding! He was incredibly kind, professional, and truly went above and beyond throughout the entire visit. He took the time to explain everything he was doing, answered all of our questions, and never made us feel rushed. What really stood out was how patient he was with our curious toddler. Instead of being bothered by all the questions, he happily walked him through what he was doing and made him feel included. It was such a thoughtful gesture that meant a lot to our family. It’s rare to find someone who combines excellent workmanship with such genuine kindness and customer service. We couldn’t be happier with our experience and would highly recommend Brigham and Farnsworth Garage Door Services to anyone!Posted on Google Craig Ahlstrom Jr.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
