Who We Are Farnsworth Garage Door Service is a family-owned, brother-run garage door repair and installation company based in the East Valley of Arizona. Brigham Farnsworth started the company in 2022, and runs it today alongside his brother Riley. The garage door company itself is young — but we're not strangers to this community. The Farnsworth name has been serving the East Valley for more than 60 years across more than a dozen family businesses started by Brigham and Riley's grandpa, Ross Farnsworth. Farnsworth Garage Door Service is the latest chapter of this family's story. With a perfect 5.0-star rating on Google, upfront pricing, and trucks stocked for same-visit fixes, we're the company East Valley homeowners call when they want it done right the first time.

Our Story

Brigham Farnsworth, founder of Farnsworth Garage Door Service

Meet Brigham — Founder

Brigham Farnsworth grew up watching the men in his family build things — homes, businesses, communities, reputations. The Farnsworth name has been on trucks, hardhats, yard signs, and job sites across the East Valley for three generations, going back to his grandpa Ross.

He started Farnsworth Garage Door Service in 2022 to do this trade the way it should be done: show up on time, diagnose honestly, quote a real price, fix it right, leave the driveway cleaner than you found it. That's not a marketing pitch. It's how you'd want it done if it were your own house — and in our case, it's how the Farnsworth name has been doing business for three generations.

Full name: Brigham Ross Farnsworth — gets his middle name from his grandpa, Ross Farnsworth.

"I know the streets, the subdivisions, the shortcuts. Most of these doors are ten minutes from where I grew up." — Brigham Farnsworth, Founder

Meet Riley — Co-Owner

Riley has spent the last decade doing one thing across a lot of different industries: scaling businesses. He's run marketing companies, partnered with investors to launch ventures from concept to market, and built a few companies of his own along the way. Different products, same playbook — take a working idea, build the systems and team around it, and turn it into an operation that can actually grow.

When Brigham started Farnsworth Garage Door Service in 2022, the next move was easy to call. It was time to bring the operator's playbook home — to do for the family what Riley had been doing for everyone else's companies for years. Brigham handles the work in the driveway. Riley handles the work that keeps the trucks rolling, the calls answered, and the invoices matching the quote — and grows the company into something the Farnsworth name deserves.

Full name: Riley Nash Farnsworth — shares his middle name with his grandpa, Ross Nash Farnsworth.

"I've spent my career helping other founders scale their companies. When my brother put a Farnsworth name on a service truck, it was time to bring that playbook home." — Riley Farnsworth, Co-Owner

A Name the East Valley Already Knows

To be clear: Farnsworth Garage Door Service is new — Brigham started this company in 2022. But the Farnsworth name on the side of our trucks has been part of the East Valley for more than 60 years. Our grandpa, Ross Farnsworth, was the one who got it started — building businesses in this community that supported the homes, families, and neighborhoods that grew up around them. We come from a family full of entrepreneurs. Over six decades, the Farnsworth family has started, built, and run more than a dozen different businesses across the East Valley.

Communities Our Family Built

The Farnsworth family hasn't just worked in the East Valley — we've helped build it. Several of Mesa's most beloved 55+ active-adult communities were developed and built by our family through Farnsworth Construction and Farnsworth Development. If you live in one of these neighborhoods — or know someone who does — you're already at home with the Farnsworth name.

Dreamland Villa
55+ Active-Adult Community • Mesa, AZ

Mesa's first 55+ retirement community and where it all started for Farnsworth Development — 2,732 homes built between 1959 and 1978.

Sunland Village
55+ Active-Adult Community • Mesa, AZ

The second Farnsworth community — 2,685 homes built between 1974 and 1984. Today, around 4,000 year-round and seasonal residents call it home.

Sunland Village East
55+ Active-Adult Community • Mesa, AZ

The third Sunland community, started in 1984 as Farnsworth Development continued east along Baseline Road.

Sunland Springs Village
55+ Active-Adult Community • Mesa, AZ

The newest of the four Farnsworth-built 55+ neighborhoods in Mesa — and the latest chapter in a multi-decade run of designing active-adult communities.

When Brigham started Farnsworth Garage Door Service in 2022, he wasn't just starting another company. He was picking up a name our grandpa built — a name on businesses, service trucks, and entire neighborhoods across the East Valley — and putting it on one more truck. That's not a marketing line. It's a standard. Every spring we replace, every door we install, and every quote we write has to live up to the work the Farnsworths have been doing here since long before any of us were born.

Local Family Business vs. Corporate Garage Door Companies

Every garage door company claims to be "local" and "honest." Here's what those words actually mean at Farnsworth — and what they tend to mean at the big national franchises.

The Farnsworth Way

  • The brothers answer the phone. You talk to the people who actually run the company.
  • Upfront pricing before a single bolt is touched.
  • No commission, no pressure. Our techs aren't paid to upsell.
  • Same-visit repairs. Trucks stocked for the most common fixes.
  • Local, licensed, insured — and here long after the job is done.
  • 5.0 stars on Google from real East Valley homeowners.
  • We clean up before we leave. Old parts go in our truck, not your driveway.

The Big-Franchise Playbook

  • Call center reads from a script — never met a tech in person.
  • "Free inspection" turns into a high-pressure sales pitch.
  • Technicians paid on commission — every visit becomes an upsell.
  • $99 ad price quietly becomes $1,500+ on the invoice.
  • Franchise owner is in another state — and so is accountability.
  • Reviews mostly come from the corporate brand, not the local crew.
  • "Bundle pricing" pushes parts your door doesn't need.

The Farnsworth Promise

These aren't slogans. They're the rules every Farnsworth tech follows on every job — because they're how we'd want our own families treated.

Honest Diagnosis

If it's a simple fix, we tell you. If it's a bigger problem, we explain why — in plain English, not jargon. Either way, you decide.

Upfront Pricing

You get the quote before we lift a wrench. The number on the invoice matches the number we told you. Always.

No Commission Sales

Our technicians don't earn more by selling you more. They earn by doing the job right and earning the next referral.

One-Trip Repairs

Our trucks carry springs, cables, rollers, and opener parts for most residential doors. Most repairs are done in a single visit.

Quality Parts & Labor

We use professional-grade parts — not the bargain components you'd find at a big-box store. And we stand behind our workmanship.

We Clean Up

Old springs, scrap metal, and packaging leave with us. Your driveway looks the way it did before we got there.

Respect for Your Home

Boots cleaned. Doors closed behind us. Pets and kids treated kindly. You won't dread having us back.

Owner Accountability

If anything goes wrong, you're not arguing with a call center. You're talking to Brigham or Riley directly — and we make it right.

About Farnsworth — FAQ

How long has Farnsworth Garage Door Service been in business?

We want to be straight with you on this. Farnsworth Garage Door Service was founded in 2022 by Brigham Farnsworth, with his brother Riley running the company alongside him. As a garage door company, we're young.

The Farnsworth family name, however, has been serving the East Valley for over 60 years. Our grandpa started a dozen-plus family businesses across the East Valley — names like R&K, Farnsworth Wholesale, and Farnsworth Realty & Management. Brigham and Riley are the third generation of Farnsworths to run a business in this community, and we're holding the new garage door company to the same standard our grandpa held the rest of them.

Is Farnsworth a local company or a national franchise?

100% local. Farnsworth Garage Door Service was founded in 2022 by Brigham Farnsworth and is run today alongside his brother Riley, right here in the East Valley. We're not a franchise, not a chain, and not a call-center brand. The brothers answer the phone and personally stand behind every job.

Where is Farnsworth based?

We're based in the East Valley and serve Mesa, Gilbert, Chandler, Scottsdale, Tempe, Phoenix, Queen Creek, San Tan Valley, Apache Junction, Fountain Hills, Gold Canyon, Guadalupe, and Maricopa, Arizona.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes — fully licensed and insured in the state of Arizona. We're happy to share proof of insurance before any job. It's a fair thing to ask, and it's something every reputable contractor should be able to provide on the spot.

Why should I choose Farnsworth over a larger garage door company?

Because you get a real local technician on every visit, upfront pricing before work starts, and brothers who personally stand behind the job. We don't pay our techs on commission, so you're never being upsold parts you don't need. The result is a 5.0-star rating from real East Valley homeowners — and a phone that keeps ringing because of word of mouth.

Do you charge for quotes?

No. Quotes are free. We come out, diagnose the issue, and give you a written price before any work begins. No quote pressure, no obligation, no surprise charges if you decide to think it over.

How fast can you get to my house?

For most non-emergency jobs we can typically be out the same day or the next, depending on availability. For broken springs, doors stuck open, or other emergencies, we offer 24/7 dispatch — call (602) 935-9766 any time.

What brands and parts do you use?

We use professional-grade parts and trusted brands you'd recognize — not the bargain components found at big-box stores. We'll always tell you exactly what's going on the door before we install it. If you have a brand or model preference, let us know and we'll work with it.

Do you stand behind your work?

Absolutely. If something isn't right after we leave, we come back and make it right. That's not a marketing promise — it's the only way a 5.0-star, word-of-mouth business stays in business. Just call (602) 935-9766 and you'll be talking to Brigham or Riley directly.

Let's Earn Your Trust the Old-Fashioned Way

One honest quote. One careful repair. One neighbor at a time.
